What's the most important, vital component or element in overcoming Social Anxiety?
That's a question I wish I'd known the answer to when I first began this journey all those years ago.
And it's one that If I'd have known, or just realised, I could have saved my self thousands of pounds and years of frustration, loneliness and boredom...
Although if I had, I wouldn't be in the position I am today, able to give advice on all the things to do and not to do.
I wouldn't be able to help people as quickly, or while having so much fun. So I'm grateful for that.
But perhaps you just want to overcome Social Anxiety in the quickest and most fun way possible and you don't care about learning all of the lessons I did.
If that's the case then the answer to this question is...
Not just any action. But the kind of action that comes from being at rock bottom. Where the only way is up. Where you have no choice but to overcome this and you'll come at it head on.
It's a determined action, an I'll do anything type of action.
You see you can't just read information to overcome Social Anxiety, that's not how it works. I can tell you what to do and it could make perfect sense to you. But just knowing doesn't change anything, you have to actually do it.
And that was challenging for past Ashley. He didn't want to feel fear. He wanted the fear to be gone, then he could do it.
Doesn't happen. No matter how much information he gained, what techniques he learned, the anxiety never disappeared.
It wasn't until I decided I'd had enough. I made a conscious decision. I will do absolutely anything to overcome this, as long as it's someone who has been there before me and knows what to do (and I trust them).
And that's what I did. I just made a decision, which you can do at any moment and it will happen when you are ready and have had enough.
If it's bad enough, you will make a decision to do something about it and you won't care what it is because the fear of not overcoming it, is worse than anything you might have to do to overcome it.
